Child Count¶

Vermont’s Child Count is a statewide data collection of over 15,000 students who receive special education and related services in Vermont under IDEA or used to receive such services and remain eligible¶

• Child Count Reference Dates:¶

• December 1 reference date: All active students and exits since July 1

• June 30 reference date: Exits since December 2 of preceding year and all Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) students
